Information on Downtown Nashville Open Businesses and Disaster Relief Programs

Brief Email Update
Today’s email update includes links to additional resources and disaster relief programs that are available to area residents and businesses. Also, most downtown businesses are now open with a few exceptions!
Flood Relief is Available
Congressman Jim Cooper’s office has information online ( http://e2ma.net/go/8257196477/2796128/94485197/2226/goto:http://www.cooper.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content=view=352=73 ) about federal assistance that is available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. This web-page also lists state, local, community and federal contact information for many agencies.
The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce has information online about business and community assistance ( http://e2ma.net/go/8257196477/2796128/94485198/2226/goto:http://www.nashvillechamber.com/FloodRecoveryAssistance/BusinessCommunityAssistance.aspx ) available through the Business Response Team.

Looking to help with downtown clean-up and recovery efforts? The Nashville Urban Residents Association has organized a list of volunteer opportunities ( http://e2ma.net/go/8257196477/2796128/94485200/2226/goto:http://www.nashvilleura.org/42001.html ). 2nd Avenue North from Broadway to Union is open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Also, Broadway from the interstate to 2nd Avenue is now open to vehicles and pedestrians.

The CMA Music Festival ( http://e2ma.net/go/8257196477/2796128/94485202/2226/goto:http://www.pitchengine.com/cmamusicfestival/cma-board-chairman-comments-on-nashville-floods-and-status-of-2010-cma-music-festival-/62078/ ) is scheduled as planned for June 10 - 13 in downtown Nashville. Half of the CMA Festival’s proceeds will be donated to flood relief.

Water Conservation Reminder from Metro Water Services
Progress is being made on the MWS reservoirs. They are now over 60%. However, please continue to CONSERVE water during this crucial time. Metro Water reports that there is still a lot of work to be done before the K.R. Harrington treatment plant is back in service.
