Looking for something fun to do this weekend? We’ve got you covered.
Street Food Thursdays are upon us once again. From 11 AM – 2 PM, enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North. Can’t make it today? No worries! Street Food Thursdays will be going on every Thursday through October.
Park(ing) Day is Friday September 16th. PARK(ing) Day is an internationally recognized event where parking spots in various cities and towns are transformed into temporary pocket parks and parklets for a day. From 10AM-5PM, various parking spots across downtown will become temporary “park” installations. The parking spots will feature a wide variety of activities and installations along Broadway, 2nd Avenue, 5th Avenue as well as in The Gulch.
Also on Friday, the Night Market will be taking place at the Nashville Farmers Market (900 Rosa L Parks Blvd). This special “spicy” night at the market is kicking off Pepper Fest on Saturday September 17th. Enjoy live jazz music, seasonal cocktails, wine, craft beer, local artisan booths, plenty of dinner options featuring spicy cuisine from Market restaurants and more.
Sunday September 18th, from 5:30PM-8:30PM, Jazz on the Cumberland takes over Cumberland Park. This Sunday features the Michael Fair Band. Attendees are encouraged to bring food to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome at this event.
Any sports fans out there?
On Saturday the 17th at 11AM, the Ohio Bobcats travel down to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers. Tennessee is ranked 15th in the country and is looking for their third win in a row this season. Also on Saturday, our very own Vanderbilt Commodores are travelling down to Atlanta to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Vandy is 1-1 and looking to rally for their second win of the season. That game starts at 11:30AM. Finally, the Tennessee Titans are looking to win one on the road this week as they take on the Detroit Lions in Detroit at noon on Sunday.
We think this is looking to be a very eventful weekend. Y’all have fun and be safe!
