We did it, everybody. We made it through the week and with a new weekend comes a whole new batch of fun (sometimes free) things to do in Nashville. Here are just a few to get those planning wheels turning.
Americana Music Festival
Location: Nashville, TN
Americana Music Festival is taking over our beautiful city this weekend. Kicking off with a conference and including an awards show at the Ryman, Americanafest also fills iconic venues throughout Nashville with the epitome of country music. Venues include 12th and Porter, 3rd and Lindsley, City Winery, Mercy Lounge, the Ryman Auditorium, Station Inn, and many more. Priority for entry into these shows will be given to conference participants and festival wristband owners. And, of course, with every festival comes festival traffic, so drive safe and plan accordingly.
Riffs on the Rails
Thursday Sept 22nd (6pm-8pm)
Location: Union Station Hotel
Union Station is presenting a very special Americana Music Festival edition of Riffs on the Rails. This event is free and will feature Billy Bragg and Joe Henry to launch their new album, “Shine a Light.”
Nashville Brew Fest
Saturday Sept 24th (noon-4pm)
Location: First Tennessee Park
Nashville Brew Fest will feature over 50 breweries, including Nashville’s best breweries, as well as food trucks, music, lawn games and more. Admission will include unlimited beer, with VIP attendees having early admission and access to specialty beer poured during the first hour. This event will take place on the field and throughout the concourse of the park.
Forever Country Live
Sunday Sept 25th (3pm-9pm)
Location: Walk of Fame Park
To continue the ongoing celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Country Music Awards, The Country Music Hall of Fame and the Country Music Association are partnering to bring a free concert to the Walk of Fame park. The concert will feature Charlie Worsham, as well as Grammy-nominated ensemble The Time Jumpers, featuring Country Music Hall of Fame member Vince Gill, Kenny Sears, “Ranger Doug” Green and Paul Franklin. Past CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Patty Loveless will join The Time Jumpers for a special appearance. This is sure to be a great, family-friendly event to cap off your weekend!
Last but certainly not least, here’s a breakdown for our sports fans.
First up, at 2:30pm on Saturday, the 19th ranked Florida Gators travel to Knoxville to take on the 14th ranked Tennessee Volunteers. Both teams are undefeated, so this should be a good one. Next up, at 3:30pm on Saturday, your Vanderbilt Commodores are travelling to Bowling Green to take on Western Kentucky University. Finally, Sunday at noon the Oakland Raiders take on the Tennessee Titans right here at Nissan Stadium. If you can’t make it to the game, no worries, they’ll be showing that game on CBS. Go Titans!
As always, be good to each other, be safe, and have fun!
